A new painting project starts with a color in mind. There isn’t a vision or even an idea. The painting comes to me slowly and often in detours. During the process I need to drop it and just watching it sometimes for days or weeks before I’m able to continue. There is a lot of spontaneity nothing planned.
I’m working with different techniques combined with special material. I’m spraying over to sharpen contrast or I’m using tiny twigs to achieve particular effects…
you need to get close to see all the details and it is allowed and important to touch the canvas…
Most of the paintings also change their effects due to light you are watching it with. The impression you get might slightly change by day- or night light or even when you change the position.
